Suicide letter to the authorities
To whom it may concern,
I Donna Deneil Vos (ID 6202240004081) do not wish to participate in the
affairs of this world anymore.
I am a state patient at Groote Schuur hospital;… patient number GSH 122
425 606 . Please find my card number in the folder.
I have had suicidal tendencies my whole life. My parents suicided. Please
find photo of them.
I have been admitted to Victoria psyche ward for 72 hours observation
in 2013.
I have had 2 suicide attempts – one in 1998 and the other in 2004.
This time I have sought professional help. I do not have the courage to
shoot, hang, gas or jump. I have tried as best as possible to die peacefully
– for my sake and anyone else concerned. I contacted a merchant in a foreign
country. I took the risk the internet warned me about. I compromised my
powder. I sent a sample to an independent laboratory in a foreign country.
My mood swings have become too severe – even for me. I asked my loving
husband of almost 10 years to move out in March last year.
He did not want to as he loves me and is concerned for me. There is no
history of mental illness in his family and he has dealt bravely and firmly,
with my issues.
He is a soldier. My soldier - doing a soldiers job.
On several occasions he has called GSH for me to see shrink. They are
never available. In 2013, I admitted myself at GSH.
I was not allowed in because I ‘wasn’t sick enough’.
